Use Trace Cam
What is Trace Cam?
The Trace Cam is what automatically films your game. It must be set up before the game starts and disessembled when the game is over. The footage it records will be automatically spliced and edited by TRACE-BOT to create video clips and performance analytics.
What should I do before game day?
The only thing you will need to do before game day is to fully charge the battery pack for your cameras.
How do I set up my Trace Cam on game day?
Step 1. To set up your Trace Cam, you will choose the side with the least glare from the sun.
Step 2. Place your high-pod 15 feet from the sideline of the centerfield line.
Step 3. Stabilize the base of your highpod with sandbags.
Step 4. Consider establishing a periphery around your Trace Cam, or putting up signs that notify passerbys that it is filming.
Step 5. If not already placed, put the cameras in camera containers and your battery pack in its shelf.
Step 6. Place and secure camera on highpod.
Step 7. Five minutes before the game begins connect the cameras to battery pack via micro USB cables. This will automatically turn on the cameras.
Step 8. Press the record (top) button on each camera. Double check it is recording by seeing if a red circle is flashing on the screen.
Step 9. Wait 15 seconds before Video Syncing the cameras. Then, use your Trace Teams app on your phone to Video Sync.
Step 10. You are all finished with Trace Cam set up. Happy Tracing!
